Job Overview
Talent Grid Africa is seeking a Junior Technical Support Engineer to provide technical support and engineering expertise throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, sales, project teams and clients, supporting technical design, installation, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting activities.

Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support to engineering, sales, project teams and clients.
Support technical design and engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Conduct site surveys and technical assessments.
Prepare technical proposals, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), engineering drawings and schematics.
Support the installation and configuration of electrical equipment.
Participate in equipment testing and commissioning.
Troubleshoot technical and electrical system issues.
Provide technical oversight during project implementation.
Support the installation and maintenance of transformers, switchboards and LV boards.
Provide technical support for smart metering systems.
Assist clients with technical queries and provide practical solutions.
Liaise with engineering and project teams to ensure technical requirements are met.
Prepare clear and accurate technical documentation and reports.
Support project teams in resolving technical challenges at project sites.
Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable safety and technical standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
2–4 years of active and verifiable experience in renewable energy or power plants.
Valid EPRA Class C1 licence.
Proficiency in AutoCAD or electrical simulation tools.
Experience preparing BOQs and technical proposals.
Ability to develop engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
Practical experience in technical design and engineering support.
Experience with equipment installation, testing and commissioning.
Knowledge of transformers, switchboards, LV boards and smart metering systems.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with clients, engineers, sales teams and project teams.
Willingness to work in field and project environments when required.
