Job Overview

Solvo Global is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join its distributed engineering team. The successful candidate will work on web-based software across the full technology stack, including databases, backend services and frontend applications, while contributing to SaaS, mobile and on-premise software products.

The role requires a highly experienced software professional with strong expertise in modern JavaScript technologies, Node.js, software architecture, system design and application development. The successful candidate will also contribute to code quality, technical documentation, testing, security, scalability and mentoring of other developers.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain and debug complex software applications across multiple application layers.

Perform unit testing for assigned development work and ensure software meets established quality standards.

Prepare and maintain technical application documentation throughout different stages of the software development lifecycle.

Lead code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to development team members.

Establish and follow software engineering standards throughout the development lifecycle.

Lead system design activities while ensuring security, performance, scalability and data integrity requirements are addressed.

Review key requirements and technical deliverables to ensure products are cohesive, functional and aligned with business needs.

Work closely with Quality Assurance teams to develop comprehensive testing strategies.

Collaborate with other engineers and technical teams in a distributed working environment.

Mentor developers and share technical knowledge and expertise with team members.

Contribute to application modernization initiatives, particularly where legacy systems require transformation.

Develop and maintain full-stack web applications using modern development frameworks and technologies.

Support continuous improvement of software development processes, standards and practices.

Participate in Agile development activities and contribute to effective delivery of software projects.

Technical Skills and Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree or equivalent professional experience.

At least 10 years of experience in the software industry, particularly in product design, architecture or software support.

At least 5 years of expert-level JavaScript/TypeScript experience.

Strong experience developing complex single-page applications using modern frameworks and libraries such as AngularJS, React and Vue.js.

In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SCSS and related web technologies.

Strong Node.js development experience.

Experience with RESTful web services and/or microservices, particularly Node.js and Express.

Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is an added advantage.

Experience with Agile software development methodologies.

Knowledge of continuous integration and test-driven development.

Strong experience with Git version control.

Experience using Docker in Linux or OSX environments.

Experience working with NoSQL or MultiValue (PICK) databases.

Knowledge of legacy software modernization is a significant advantage.

HCM domain knowledge is an added advantage.

The candidate should be comfortable working independently while also collaborating effectively with distributed development teams.
