Job Overview

Mobi-Water is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting & Bookkeeping Intern to support its finance and accounting operations. The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day bookkeeping, account reconciliations, cash flow tracking, financial record keeping and other routine accounting activities.

This internship provides an opportunity for an accounting or finance graduate, or a candidate pursuing professional accounting qualifications, to gain practical experience in a technology-driven organization. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of basic accounting principles, excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow through on assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities

The Accounting & Bookkeeping Intern will support the finance function with a range of accounting and administrative activities, including:

Assisting with day-to-day bookkeeping and recording of financial transactions.

Supporting the preparation and maintenance of accurate accounting records.

Assisting with bank and account reconciliations.

Supporting cash flow tracking and monitoring.

Reviewing financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Assisting with the preparation and organization of accounting documentation.

Supporting the finance team in maintaining proper financial filing systems.

Assisting with tracking income, expenses and other financial transactions.

Supporting the preparation of basic financial schedules and reports.

Identifying discrepancies in financial records and reporting them to the relevant team members.

Assisting with routine accounts payable and receivable activities where required.

Ensuring financial information is recorded accurately and on time.

Supporting other accounting and finance activities assigned by the supervisor.

Maintaining confidentiality when handling financial and company information.

Working closely with other team members to ensure finance-related tasks are completed effectively.

Qualifications and Requirements

Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

Candidates pursuing ACCA are encouraged to apply.

Basic understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles.

Good numerical and analytical skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Good organizational and record-keeping skills.

Basic knowledge of account reconciliation and cash flow management.

Good computer skills and ability to work with accounting and spreadsheet applications.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks within deadlines.

Willingness to learn and develop practical accounting skills.

Ability to receive feedback and apply it to assigned work.

High level of integrity and professionalism when handling financial information.
