Position Summary

The Truck Driver will operate heavy commercial trucks to transport cargo efficiently and safely. The role requires excellent driving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accurate delivery records while ensuring company vehicles remain in good working condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy commercial trucks safely and efficiently to transport goods.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Report mechanical faults, defects, or safety concerns promptly.
• Ensure cargo is properly loaded, secured, and transported without damage.
• Plan efficient delivery routes while meeting delivery schedules.
• Complete delivery documentation, fuel records, and transport logs accurately.
• Maintain communication with dispatch and transport management regarding deliveries.
• Comply with all traffic laws, transport regulations, and company safety procedures.
• Keep assigned vehicles clean and ensure routine maintenance schedules are followed.
• Report accidents, breakdowns, traffic violations, or other incidents immediately.
• Assist with loading and unloading cargo when required.
• Obtain proof of delivery from customers upon successful deliveries.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• A valid Kenyan driving licence with the appropriate class for operating heavy commercial trucks.
• A valid Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) or any other mandatory transport certification required by Kenyan regulations.
• At least 2 years of experience driving heavy commercial or trailer trucks.
• A clean driving record with no serious traffic violations.
• Good knowledge of Kenyan road safety regulations and defensive driving practices.
• Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and identify mechanical issues.
• Good communication and record-keeping skills.
• Physical fitness to assist with loading and unloading when required.
• Flexibility to work weekends, extended hours, and long-distance routes when necessary.
