JOB DESCRIPTION
EIDU is seeking an experienced IT Specialist to take ownership of day-to-day IT operations globally. The successful candidate will ensure that staff have reliable, secure and well-supported technology to perform their roles effectively.
The position involves providing technical support, protecting company data and devices, managing user access, administering IT systems and supporting cybersecurity practices.
The IT Specialist will report to the Director of People and will work closely with teams across the organisation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
IT SUPPORT & HELPDESK
Serve as the first point of contact for IT issues raised by staff.
Troubleshoot hardware, software and connectivity problems.
Set up and configure laptops, mobile devices and peripherals for new employees.
Support device handover and returns for departing employees.
Maintain accurate inventories of IT equipment and software licenses.
Coordinate repairs, replacements and vendor support.
Document common technical issues and solutions.
SYSTEMS, ACCESS & TOOLS ADMINISTRATION
Provision and deprovision user accounts and access across cloud systems.
Administer platforms including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and Slack.
Maintain Google Groups, distribution lists and shared mailboxes.
Manage permissions for shared drives and folders.
Monitor access permissions and identify anomalies.
Manage EIDU's SaaS and software tools.
Track subscriptions, licenses and renewals.
Evaluate new tools and retire unused software.
Track IT vendor contracts and costs.
ANTIVIRUS & CYBERSECURITY
Deploy, monitor and maintain antivirus and endpoint protection software.
Monitor and respond to basic security alerts.
Escalate complex security incidents when necessary.
Conduct security hygiene checks, including software updates and patching.
Monitor password policy compliance.
Provide staff with security awareness guidance on phishing, passwords and safe browsing.
DATA MANAGEMENT
Support good data hygiene practices across the organisation.
Assist with file organisation and storage management.
Ensure sensitive information is handled securely.
Work with the People team to maintain compliance with country-specific data protection requirements.
GENERAL IT OPERATIONS
Liaise with external IT vendors and internet service providers.
Work with global engineering teams where required.
Support office moves, equipment rollouts, events and training.
Recommend improvements to IT policies, systems and processes.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Minimum of 5 years' experience in IT support, systems administration or IT operations.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
Strong experience supporting both Windows and macOS environments.
Experience working in a Tier 2 or equivalent technical support environment.
Experience with antivirus and endpoint protection tools.
Knowledge of basic cybersecurity practices.
Experience administering Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace.
Experience supporting distributed, remote or multi-country organisations.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi and routing.
Experience with endpoint protection/EDR.
Knowledge of user administration, identity management, MFA and access controls.
Experience with IT asset management and SaaS administration.
