Job Description
Bobu Africa is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Tour Consultant Intern to join its team in Nairobi and gain practical experience in tour consultancy, reservations and travel operations. This opportunity is suitable for a fresh graduate or an early-career professional interested in building a career in tourism, hospitality, travel management and tour operations.
The successful intern will support the team in coordinating travel arrangements and ensuring that clients receive smooth and well-organised travel experiences. The role will provide practical exposure to flight, hotel and activity reservations, itinerary preparation, quotations, booking confirmations and general customer support.
The Tour Consultant Intern will assist with processing and confirming reservations for flights, accommodation and travel activities. This will require communicating with hotels, airlines and other service providers to confirm availability and ensure that bookings are accurately processed. The intern will also help follow up on reservations and ensure that the necessary documentation is available before clients travel.
A key part of the role will involve assisting with the preparation of hotel vouchers, itineraries, quotations, invoices and booking confirmations. The successful candidate will learn how to organise travel information accurately and present it in a clear and professional manner. Attention to detail will be important because errors in travel bookings or documentation can affect the client experience.
The intern will also work closely with the sales team to develop travel itineraries based on individual client requirements. This will involve understanding client preferences, destinations, available activities and accommodation options and helping create travel plans that meet customer expectations.
Customer service will be an important component of the position. The intern will assist in responding to booking changes, cancellations, special requests and other travel-related issues. They may also support emergency requests and help coordinate with relevant service providers to resolve problems quickly and professionally.
The role will require close collaboration with Sales, Operations and Finance teams to ensure that bookings are processed according to company procedures. Working across different departments will provide the intern with valuable exposure to the wider operations of a tour and travel business.
The successful candidate will also assist in maintaining accurate digital and physical records for reservations and related documentation. They will be expected to keep booking information organised and up to date, ensuring that relevant documents can be accessed when required.
The intern may also support the company in monitoring service standards and gathering customer feedback. This information can be used to identify areas for improvement and contribute to enhancing the overall booking and customer experience.

Qualifications and Requirements
