About Me
I'm a full-stack engineer with 3+ years building and shipping production systems end-to-end — Python/Django on the backend, React/TypeScript on the front — and I've spent most of that time working remotely across distributed teams. I build full-stack platforms and wire AI into them to make them genuinely smart: RAG systems like Sheria AI (a Kenyan-law assistant at sheria.africa) and Ummly (an Islamic knowledge platform), where the hard part is getting the model to cite real sources and refuse when it isn't sure, not just sound impressive. I've shipped these solo and as part of a team, owning everything from architecture and APIs to deployment on Docker/DigitalOcean with CI/CD. Day to day I work the way remote teams do — GitHub and pull-request reviews, GitHub Actions for CI, Slack for comms, Jira for tracking, and async over Agile/Scrum — so I'm comfortable being trusted to run with something and deliver without someone looking over my shoulder. I'd love to bring that to an early-stage team building something real.
