About the Role
The ICT Officer will be responsible for delivering first-line hardware support, managing ICT assets, maintaining network infrastructure, and ensuring efficient service desk operations. The role also involves supporting ICT strategy implementation, improving resource utilization, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the ICT department.
Key Responsibilities
End-User Technical Support
- Provide timely technical support for hardware-related issues and user requests.
- Diagnose and resolve computer hardware, peripheral, and connectivity problems.
- Maintain a high first-time resolution rate for reported technical issues.
- Escalate complex technical problems when necessary.
- Collect user feedback to improve service quality and customer satisfaction.
Service Desk Management
- Log and assign ICT incidents, service requests, and technical inquiries promptly.
- Track service requests from initiation through resolution.
- Maintain detailed records of support activities, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
- Provide users with regular updates on the status of support requests.
ICT Hardware & Infrastructure
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, and ICT peripherals.
- Perform preventive maintenance on hardware, network cabling, telephony systems, and server equipment.
- Coordinate hardware repairs, servicing, and equipment replacement.
- Work with vendors to ensure timely delivery of ICT equipment and spare parts.
- Minimize downtime during maintenance activities.
ICT Asset & Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records for ICT hardware and software assets.
- Conduct regular ICT asset audits and inventory reconciliation.
- Track hardware lifecycle, replacements, and upgrades.
- Prepare monthly ICT inventory reports.
ICT Strategy & Continuous Improvement
- Support implementation of the organization's ICT strategy and annual work plans.
- Monitor progress of ICT initiatives and provide regular status reports.
- Identify opportunities to improve ICT efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Recommend improvements in hardware utilization, procurement, and asset management.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Conduct periodic evaluations to ensure ICT systems comply with organizational standards.
- Participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) inspections.
- Ensure compliance with Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG), Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), and Kaizen continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized ICT workspaces.
Training & Knowledge Sharing
- Mentor junior ICT staff and share technical knowledge.
- Conduct regular ICT training sessions for team members.
- Support continuous professional development within the ICT department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in ICT hardware support, desktop support, or network infrastructure management.
