Job Purpose

The Software Engineer will contribute to the development and maintenance of robust software applications using PHP and Laravel.

The role focuses on delivering reliable application features, developing system integrations, optimising databases, conducting software tests and ensuring that applications meet the required performance and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform the following duties:

1. Design, develop, test and maintain robust applications using PHP and the Laravel framework.

2. Build and integrate RESTful APIs, third-party services and external data sources.

3. Design, optimise and manage relational databases, including MySQL and PostgreSQL.

4. Identify and resolve application performance bottlenecks, software bugs and scalability challenges.

5. Write clean, reusable and maintainable code in accordance with industry best practices.

6. Develop and execute unit tests and integration tests to ensure application reliability and quality.

7. Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous software development improvement initiatives.

8. Collaborate with product managers, designers, data engineers and other developers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

9. Enhance and optimise existing system functionality to improve stability, performance, scalability and user experience.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

- 3–5 years of professional experience developing applications using PHP and Laravel.
