1. Graduate Engineering Trainee Program

Position Summary

The Graduate Engineering Trainee Program is designed to equip engineering graduates with the professional and technical skills required to build a successful career in aircraft engineering and maintenance. Trainees will undergo structured classroom training, on-the-job training (OJT), and project-based learning under experienced engineering professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend aircraft maintenance basic courses and successfully complete company examinations.
• Perform assigned maintenance tasks during on-the-job training (OJT).
• Support experienced engineers in maintenance assignments and engineering projects.
• Shadow aircraft maintenance and support operations.
• Participate in engineering projects using project management principles, including risk assessment, planning, reporting, and project delivery.
• Participate in networking activities and professional development programmes.
• Work closely with experienced engineering teams throughout the training programme.
• Gain exposure to multi-disciplinary engineering environments and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) software.
• Learn operational activities within Kenya Airways Flight Operations and Ground Operations departments.
• Perform any other training-related duties assigned.

Qualifications

Applicants must have:

• Bachelor's Degree in:
• Aeronautical Engineering
• Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Mechatronics Engineering
• Or a related engineering discipline.
• KCSE Mean Grade B+ with A- in Mathematics, English, and Physics, or equivalent.
• At least Second Class Honours (Upper Division).
• Relevant internship or engineering project experience.
• Passion for Kenya Airways.
• At least one (1) year experience in a busy engineering environment.

2. Engineering Apprentice Technician Program

Position Summary

The Engineering Apprentice Technician Program is designed for diploma graduates seeking to build a career in aircraft maintenance engineering. Successful candidates will undertake aircraft maintenance courses, complete company examinations, and prepare for the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) Aircraft Maintenance Licence.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend induction and mandatory training courses.
• Undertake aircraft maintenance basic courses.
• Successfully complete company examinations.
• Perform maintenance duties during on-the-job training.
• Prepare for KCAA licence examinations (without type rating).
• Participate in networking and development activities.
• Work alongside experienced engineering teams throughout the training programme.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of Kenya Civil Aviation Regulations (KCARs).
• Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance manuals.
• Good understanding of aircraft systems.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

• Diploma or Higher National Diploma (HND) in:
• Aeronautical Engineering
• Aircraft Maintenance Engineering
• Or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• KCSE Mean Grade C+ with C+ in Mathematics, English, and Physics, or equivalent.
• Proof of industrial attachment during training.
• 2–3 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
