Job Overview

The Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) is inviting applications from qualified Kenyan graduates for Graduate Assistant positions across various academic departments. Successful candidates will support academic staff in teaching and departmental activities while pursuing a relevant Master's degree.

Graduate Assistants will be appointed on a one-year renewable contract, renewable for up to three years, subject to satisfactory progress in their Master's programme.

Qualifications

Applicants must:

• Hold at least a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) Bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
• Demonstrate the potential and willingness to pursue a relevant Master's degree.
• Have registered for a relevant Master's programme for contract renewal.
• Be registered or eligible for registration with the relevant professional or regulatory body where applicable.
• Be Kenyan citizens aged below 30 years.

Maritime & Seafaring Studies

• Bachelor of Technology in Marine Engineering.

Engineering & Technology (Civil)

• Bachelor of Science in Building & Civil Engineering.

Engineering & Technology (Mechanical)

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

Engineering & Technology (Electrical)

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

Computing & Informatics

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior academic staff with teaching and departmental assignments as allocated by the Chair of Department (COD).
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time.
