Job Overview

Farsight Africa Group is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor and Compliance Consultant to strengthen its internal audit, risk management, and compliance functions. This opportunity is ideal for finance and audit professionals with expertise in tax compliance, financial auditing, governance, and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will evaluate internal controls, monitor compliance with tax regulations, identify operational risks, and recommend improvements to enhance organizational efficiency and governance.

Position Summary

The Internal Auditor will be responsible for conducting internal audits, monitoring compliance with statutory tax obligations, reviewing financial processes, evaluating internal controls, and providing recommendations that strengthen risk management, governance, and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Internal Audit & Risk Management

• Conduct follow-up audits to monitor management's implementation of audit recommendations.
• Identify control weaknesses and recommend risk mitigation and cost-saving measures.
• Determine internal audit scope and develop annual audit plans.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of risk management, governance, and internal control processes.

Tax Compliance & Financial Audit

• Review and ensure the accuracy of statutory deductions and tax filings, including:
• PAYE
• VAT
• Withholding Tax
• NHIF
• NSSF
• Corporate Tax
• Conduct periodic reviews of the finance system to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions.
• Reconcile tax accounts and verify timely tax remittances.
• Review supplier payments for compliance with withholding tax requirements.
• Advise management on changes in tax laws and recommend policy updates.
• Prepare quarterly reports on the organization's tax compliance status.
• Liaise with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and external auditors on tax-related matters.
• Train and guide the finance team on tax compliance best practices.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA-K or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax compliance and financial auditing, preferably within a corporate or consulting environment.
• Strong understanding of KRA tax laws and the iTax system.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
