A client in the e-commerce industry is seeking a creative, proactive, and highly motivated Communications Intern to support its communications function, with a strong focus on digital content creation and social media management.

The successful candidate will contribute to strengthening the organization's digital presence, managing social media platforms, creating engaging content, supporting media relations, and participating in communication campaigns and events.

Position Summary

The Communications Intern will support social media management, content development, graphic design, video production, media relations, internal communications, and event coverage while gaining practical experience across the full spectrum of corporate communications.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management

• Manage the organization's social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), TikTok, and future channels.
• Develop and maintain monthly content calendars.
• Publish engaging and consistent content.
• Monitor comments, messages, and inquiries while ensuring timely responses.
• Track social media trends and propose audience growth strategies.
• Monitor performance metrics and prepare monthly analytics reports.

Content Creation

• Create written, visual, and video content for digital platforms.
• Develop creative concepts for campaigns and awareness initiatives.
• Write captions, articles, newsletters, website content, and stories.
• Identify opportunities to tell impactful stories about the organization, partners, and beneficiaries.

Graphic Design & Video Production

• Design posters, banners, flyers, and communication materials.
• Capture photos and videos during events and activities.
• Edit short-form and long-form videos.
• Create reels, TikToks, and promotional videos.

Media & Public Relations

• Draft press releases, media advisories, and talking points.
• Support media engagement activities and press events.
• Prepare communication materials for organizational announcements.
• Monitor media coverage and compile reports.

Corporate Communications

• Support internal communication initiatives.
• Assist in developing communication campaigns.
• Maintain organized communication assets, including photos, videos, and brand materials.
• Ensure all materials comply with branding guidelines.

Events & Campaigns

• Support communication planning for events.
• Provide live social media coverage.
• Prepare post-event highlights, photo galleries, and recap videos.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Bachelor's Degree or be in the final year of study in:
• Communications
• Journalism
• Public Relations
• Marketing
• Media Studies
• Digital Media
• Or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital trends.
• Experience creating social media content.
• Basic graphic design skills using:
• Canva
• Adobe Creative Suite
• Or similar tools.
• Video editing skills using:
• CapCut
• Adobe Premiere Pro
• Final Cut Pro
• Or equivalent software.
• Photography and videography skills are an added advantage.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
