Nurse Job Responsibilities

The Nurse will be expected to support the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred nursing care. Key responsibilities associated with the position include:

Providing professional nursing care to patients in accordance with established clinical standards.

Assessing patients and identifying their immediate healthcare needs.

Supporting the management of patients presenting with emergency and trauma-related conditions.

Monitoring patients' vital signs and reporting significant changes to the relevant medical team.

Administering prescribed medications and treatments accurately and safely.

Assisting doctors and other healthcare professionals during emergency interventions and procedures.

Responding appropriately to medical emergencies within the facility.

Applying appropriate emergency nursing procedures based on the patient's condition.

Providing first-line support to patients requiring urgent medical attention.

Maintaining accurate and timely nursing documentation and patient records.

Communicating relevant patient information to doctors and other members of the healthcare team.

Monitoring patients' progress and reporting changes in their condition.

Providing appropriate patient education and health information.

Supporting patients and their relatives by communicating professionally and compassionately.

Maintaining infection prevention and control standards when providing patient care.

Ensuring that nursing equipment and supplies are used appropriately.

Following established hospital policies, procedures and professional nursing standards.

Requirements and Qualifications

1. Nursing Qualification

Applicants must be qualified as a Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN).

The relevant nursing qualification should be from a recognized training institution.

2. Nursing Council Registration

Candidates must have a valid Nursing Council of Kenya practicing license.

3. Trauma and Emergency Specialization
