About Machakos Technical Institute for the Blind
Machakos Technical Institute for the Blind is a Government Technical Training Institution located within Machakos Municipality, near the National Cereals and Produce Board depot along Konza Road.
The institution was established in 1958 to provide technical and vocational skills to people who had been affected by war. It was initially supported by the Royal Commonwealth Society for the Blind and its local partner, the Kenya Society for the Blind.

Job Goal
The primary goal of the Nurse is to provide professional nursing and health-related support within the institution.
The successful candidate will contribute to the wellbeing of students and staff by responding appropriately to health needs, maintaining professional standards and supporting a safe institutional environment.
The Nurse will also be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and other relevant stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism and respect when dealing with individuals seeking health assistance.
Key Responsibilities
The Nurse will provide appropriate nursing and health support to students and staff within the institution.
The role will require the successful candidate to respond professionally to individuals presenting with health concerns and provide appropriate nursing care within their scope of practice.
The Nurse will support the promotion of good health practices within the institution and provide appropriate health advice where necessary.
The successful candidate will also maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling health-related information and interacting with students, staff and other members of the institution.
The role may involve advising individuals on appropriate health practices and helping them understand available health support and services.
The Nurse will also work as part of a team and coordinate with other staff members where health-related matters require additional assistance or attention.
