Job Summary

World Vision Kenya is seeking a Finance Intern to support finance operations, including accounts payable, cash management, reconciliations, document management, budgeting, reporting, and administrative functions. This internship offers hands-on experience in a professional finance environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Monitor the EARO invoices mailbox and process invoices.
  • Review pending purchase orders quarterly.
  • Prepare monthly creditor reconciliations and follow up with vendors to resolve outstanding items.
  • Support the Finance Officer in clearing outstanding bank reconciliation items.

Cash & Advance Management

  • Process cash requests in line with organizational policies and timelines.
  • Allocate and age balance sheet accounts relating to staff advances.
  • Support corporate credit card expense processing and general ledger reconciliations.

Reconciliations

  • Perform account allocations and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Support inter-office payment settlement operations.

Document Management

  • Maintain proper filing and tracking of financial documents.
  • Ensure financial records are well organized, legible, and secure.
  • Retrieve documents for internal and external users, including auditors and government agencies.

Budgeting, Reporting & Analysis

  • Participate in budgeting for operational costs.
  • Attend finance review meetings.
  • Prepare financial analyses as assigned.

Administrative Support

  • Assist in event and facilities management.
  • Support other administrative and finance-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
  • Participate in learning activities and finance review meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPA or ACCA qualification with at least Level II completed.
  • Good communication and report-writing skills in English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and accounting software.
  • Demonstrate Christ-centred values, integrity, trustworthiness, and humanitarian principles.
