Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
The Human Resource Officer will be responsible for supporting and coordinating various HR functions within the institution, including:
Conduct recruitment, selection and employee onboarding processes.
Prepare payroll and coordinate employee benefits.
Handle disciplinary matters in accordance with established procedures.
Coordinate and facilitate staff performance appraisal processes.
Ensure compliance with Kenyan labour laws and organisational policies.
Provide HR support and guidance to employees on workplace-related matters.
Handle employee relations matters and help resolve workplace concerns.
Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
Ensure HR policies and procedures are properly implemented.
Support the institution in maintaining a professional and positive working environment.
Assist management with HR-related matters and employee administration.
Maintain confidentiality of employee information and other sensitive HR records.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or a related Human Resource discipline.
Be a registered member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
Have at least two years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
Have good knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and HR best practices.
Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and relevant management systems.
Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrate strong organisational and administrative abilities.
Have good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality and attention to detail.
Be able to work effectively with employees and management at different levels.
Additional Advantage
Possession of Certified Human Resource Practitioner – Kenya (CHRP-K) certification will be an added advantage.
Candidates with practical experience in recruitment, payroll administration, employee relations, performance management, disciplinary procedures and HR compliance will be well suited for the position.
