Job Overview

Wavetech Solutions Ltd is seeking a Procurement Officer to support its procurement and supply chain operations in Nairobi. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, managing procurement documentation, evaluating suppliers, negotiating with vendors and ensuring that purchasing activities are completed efficiently and in line with company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The Procurement Officer will be expected to:

Source and evaluate suitable suppliers.

Obtain and compare supplier quotations.

Support purchasing and procurement processes.

Prepare and maintain purchase orders and procurement records.

Negotiate prices and other terms with suppliers.

Maintain professional relationships with vendors.

Evaluate supplier performance and reliability.

Ensure procurement documentation is properly maintained.

Support timely acquisition of required goods and services.

Maintain accurate procurement records for accountability and reporting.

Work with internal teams to understand purchasing requirements.

Ensure procurement activities meet established company procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should have:

A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supplies, Business Administration or a related field.

At least 3 years of proven procurement experience.

Strong supplier sourcing and negotiation skills.

Experience managing supplier relationships.

Knowledge of quotations, purchase orders and supplier evaluation.

Good understanding of procurement documentation and record keeping.

Strong organizational and analytical skills.

Excellent attention to detail.

High integrity and accountability.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Experience in ICT, networking, electronics or telecommunications procurement will be an added advantage.

Candidates should currently be based in Nairobi or the surrounding areas.

Availability to attend an in-person interview when shortlisted.
