A leading engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team in Nairobi. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with expertise in electrical building services design, tender documentation, and construction supervision.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing conceptual, schematic, and detailed electrical designs, developing tender documentation, supervising construction projects, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions for clients.

Position Summary

The Electrical Engineer will lead the design of electrical building services, prepare technical documentation, supervise construction activities, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, infrastructure, and renewable energy developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, schematic, and detailed electrical building services designs.
• Develop tender documentation and technical specifications.
• Supervise construction works to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver project objectives.
• Produce accurate technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Perform lighting design and photometric analysis using industry-standard software.
• Ensure compliance with Kenyan and international electrical codes and standards.
• Support project delivery across residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, infrastructure, and renewable energy projects.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 5–8 years of relevant post-graduation experience in electrical building services design, tender documentation, and construction supervision.
• Registration as a Graduate Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK), with the required logged experience for Professional Engineer registration.
• Demonstrated experience across residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, infrastructure, and renewable energy projects.
• Experience working within an engineering consultancy environment.

Technical Skills

The ideal candidate should have experience with:

• Electrical building services design.
• Tender documentation preparation.
• Construction supervision.
• AutoCAD for technical drawing production.
• DIALux or Relux for lighting design and photometric analysis.
• Kenyan and international electrical codes and standards, including:
• IEE/BS 7671 Wiring Regulations.
• KEBS/KS Standards.
• IEC Standards.
• NFPA Fire and Life Safety Codes.
