About This Opportunity
The Receptionist attends to patients on the phone and in person. Coordinate and organize appointments and documentation to facilitate the smooth running of the healthcare environment and support delivery of quality patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Greet and attend to patients in person and over the phone.
· Professionally assist doctors, staff, visitors, and patients.
· Maintain business inventory such as checking supplies, scheduling equipment, and maintenance repairs.
· Answer all phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
· Maintain confidentiality of all doctors, staff, and patient information.
· Schedule appointments between doctors and patients.
· Liaise between medical departments with discretion and professionalism
· Adhere to policy and procedures during all activates.
· Assist with admissions/treatment as per agreed protocols.
· Ensure that stock levels are adequate and orders are made timeously.
· Communicate medical results to patients under clinical supervision.
· Complete accurate documentation of patient visits.
· Register patients according to established protocols
· Assist patients to complete all necessary forms and documentation including medical insurance
· Ensure patient information is accurate including billing information
· Inform patients of medical office procedures and policy
· Maintain and manage patient records
· Facilitate co-pays and payments by informing the Patients
· Report statistics as required
· Schedule hospital admissions, tests, scans and outside appointments for patients
· Complete other clerical duties as assigned
· Ensure reception area is well maintained, neat and clean
· Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Front Office Management, Secretarial Studies, Business Administration or related field is required
- Certification in front office Operations will have an added advantage
- Minimum of 2 years of experience at a healthcare facility in a medical receptionist role(essential).
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis
- Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications
- Knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures
- Experience in the healthcare industry will be an added advantage.
