Job Overview

Flexi-Personnel is seeking a reliable and experienced Driver – Truck/Van to support the safe and timely transportation of event equipment, materials, staff and supplies. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving company trucks and vans, supporting event logistics, ensuring proper handling of loads and maintaining assigned vehicles in good working condition.

The role requires a responsible driver with strong knowledge of local roads, good time management skills and the ability to work under pressure, particularly when supporting events with strict delivery and setup schedules.

Key Responsibilities

Drive company trucks and vans safely and responsibly.

Transport event equipment, furniture, décor, supplies, staff and materials to various locations.

Ensure timely collection and delivery of equipment according to event schedules.

Plan routes and account for traffic, loading, unloading and possible delays.

Comply with traffic laws, road safety regulations and company driving procedures.

Support loading, transportation, offloading and movement of event equipment.

Assist with event setup and breakdown where required.

Confirm deliveries and collections and promptly report shortages, damages or delays.

Move equipment between company stores, offices, suppliers and event venues.

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

Report mechanical faults, tyre problems, damage and other vehicle concerns.

Ensure vehicles are serviced and maintained according to schedule.

Keep assigned vehicles clean, organized and presentable.

Maintain accurate mileage, fuel, service and trip records.

Ensure vehicle insurance, inspection and other required documents are valid.

Properly arrange, secure and protect loads during transportation.

Check equipment against delivery and collection lists.

Assist with safe loading and unloading where necessary.

Maintain professional conduct when interacting with clients, suppliers and members of the public.

Support event teams in maintaining efficient operations at event sites.

Protect company equipment and report any loss or damage immediately.

Qualifications and Requirements

Valid driving licence appropriate for the assigned vehicle.

Relevant professional driving certification where required.

At least 2–3 years of driving experience.

Experience driving commercial vehicles, trucks or vans is an advantage.

Previous experience in logistics, events, deliveries or transport operations is an added advantage.

Good knowledge of local roads and routes.

Clean and responsible driving record.

Good knowledge of basic vehicle operation and routine checks.

Strong defensive and safe driving skills.

Good route-planning and time-management abilities.

Ability to safely handle and secure loads.

Reliable, punctual and responsible.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight schedules.

Good customer service and interpersonal skills.

Flexibility to work irregular hours when required.
