Job Description

Platinum Outsourcing & Logistics is seeking an experienced and technically skilled WMS & IT Support Supervisor to support warehouse management systems, IT infrastructure and day-to-day technology operations. The successful candidate will provide first-level technical support, maintain the SPEED Warehouse Management System (WMS), troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure reliable connectivity across operational and office locations.

The role will involve supporting users with WMS, hardware, software, connectivity and other IT-related issues. The successful candidate will investigate and resolve SPEED WMS incidents and service requests, escalating complex issues to the appropriate technical teams or service providers when necessary.

The WMS & IT Support Supervisor will also support the configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of RF guns and other devices used to access the WMS. The role requires close monitoring of WMS operations to ensure system availability and continuity in support of warehouse activities.

A key responsibility will be managing approved WMS user and Super User access in line with established access management procedures. The successful candidate will also support the generation, monitoring and follow-up of WMS and Transport Management System (TMS) reports.

The position will involve investigating failed WMS transactions, interfaces and integration messages and providing first-level resolution where possible. The supervisor will escalate complex technical issues appropriately while maintaining accurate records of incidents, actions taken and resolutions.

End-user support and training will also form an important part of the role. The successful candidate will conduct user training to ensure employees understand approved WMS processes and procedures. Proper documentation and user sign-off will be maintained following training activities.

The WMS & IT Support Supervisor will also install, configure and maintain approved operating systems, software applications and other IT solutions on new and existing computers. The role may involve diagnosing, repairing or replacing computer hardware, peripherals and other IT equipment.

Network and connectivity support will be another major responsibility. The successful candidate will monitor LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, RF and related network infrastructure to ensure the availability and uptime required for warehouse operations. Communication and network outages will be reported to service providers and followed up until resolution.

The supervisor will maintain detailed records of IT, network, RF and WMS-related outages, including their duration, impact, root cause and resolution. Recurring problems will be investigated to identify possible corrective actions and improve system reliability.

The role will also involve preparing daily IT and WMS operational reports for the MIS Manager. These reports will provide information on system performance, incidents, outages, client requests, outstanding issues, actions taken and matters requiring management attention.

The successful candidate will contribute to IT and WMS incident, service request and change management processes. They will also maintain accurate technical documentation covering WMS procedures, system configurations, recurring problems and step-by-step troubleshooting processes.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field. An ITIL V3/V4 certification and Aruba certification or an equivalent networking qualification are required.

Candidates should have practical knowledge and experience with SPEED WMS and warehouse management systems. At least four years of experience in the same or a similar position is required.

The ideal candidate should possess strong technical, supervisory, analytical and customer-service skills. Excellent communication, problem-solving and conceptual abilities are also important.

The successful candidate should be agile, resilient, flexible, proactive and accountable, with strong integrity and attention to detail. The ability to work effectively as part of a team while remaining solution-oriented and customer-focused will be essential.
