Job Description
TakaTaka Solutions is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Store Clerk to support its inventory and warehouse operations in Nairobi. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, recording, storing and issuing stock while maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring compliance with established store management procedures.
The Store Clerk will receive goods delivered to the store and verify quantities and quality against delivery notes, Local Purchase Orders and other relevant documentation. The successful candidate will ensure that all incoming stock is properly recorded in the inventory system and manual registers where applicable.
The role will also involve issuing materials to departments based on authorised requests and maintaining accurate records of all stock movements. The Store Clerk will monitor stock levels, identify shortages and report discrepancies promptly to the relevant teams.
Regular stocktaking will be an important responsibility. The successful candidate will conduct daily, weekly and monthly stock counts, investigate discrepancies and help ensure that physical inventory matches recorded balances.
The Store Clerk will also be responsible for proper storage and organisation of inventory. This includes ensuring that goods are appropriately labelled, arranged for easy retrieval and protected from damage. The successful candidate will monitor stock for expiry, damage and breakages and report any exceptions.
The position will require close coordination with Procurement, Finance and other departments to support timely delivery and availability of required materials. The Store Clerk will assist with following up on deliveries, maintaining supporting documentation and providing information on stock consumption and requirements.
The successful candidate will also support the distribution of binliners and ensure that inventory databases are regularly updated. They may assist in reviewing stock usage patterns to identify fast-moving and slow-moving items and provide relevant information to management.
The Store Clerk will contribute to improving inventory control procedures by identifying risks such as shortages, losses and wastage and recommending appropriate measures. The role may also involve preparing stock movement and specialised inventory reports to support management decision-making.
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe store environment will also be essential. The successful candidate must follow internal controls and established procedures when receiving, storing and issuing inventory.

Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should have a Certificate or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Warehousing or a related field.
Candidates should have practical experience in stores, warehouse operations or inventory management and a good understanding of stock receiving, issuing, storage, stocktaking and documentation procedures.
KISM certification will be an added advantage.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate inventory records. Knowledge of stock control systems and inventory databases will also be beneficial.
Applicants should be reliable, accountable and capable of working effectively with Procurement, Finance and other operational teams.
